Interim Project Manager II, Programs and Support Washington, DC,
USA --- Virtual Req #1102 Tuesday, July 30, 2024 The general salary
range for this position is $116,000 - 140,000. Salary offers will
be commensurate with experience, qualifications, skills, training,
and education.
The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), the nation's most
effective animal advocacy organization, is seeking an Interim
Project Manager II, Programs and Support for the Technology and
Information Solutions department. In this position you will manage
functional projects within the programs, finance, and support
departments as they relate to business initiatives requiring
technological services from concept to funded project through
implementation and maintenance. You will be responsible for: ---
Utilizing standard project management procedures for the planning,
scheduling, risk management, requirements management, technical
specification creation, budget and fiscal management of projects.
Managing multiple concurrent cross-departmental projects that vary
in size;
--- Creating project portfolios for the Finance, Human Resources
and Programs departments while operating the enterprise technology
roadmap and organizational strategy. Determining the appropriate
project methodology based on project type;
--- Informing the Technology Advisory Group (TAG) of project
interferences within the Finance, Human Resources and Programs
departments. Coordinating with other Project Managers in the
Project Management Office (PMO) on an enterprise-wide release
calendar and roadmap;
--- Managing estimate accuracy and quality of services completed
and/or implemented into the production environment. Works with
resource managers to align project load with capacity;
--- Providing process governance across all business improvement
initiatives from concept to implementation across all technology
areas;
--- Driving continuous improvement to processes according to
feedback sessions post project release. Assisting in the
development of project management processes and templates to
institutionalize project management;
--- Managing contracts and budgets for assigned systems. Monitoring
contract spending to ensure budget is met each month. Reviewing new
contracts for impact to existing technology infrastructure;
--- Advocating and promoting the institutionalization of project
management best practices, standards, and policies across the
enterprise;
--- Performs other duties and responsibilities, as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements: --- Bachelor's degree in Business
Administration, Information Technology or a related field, or
equivalent work experience required;
--- A minimum of four (4) years of experience in an analytical,
research function, demonstrating depth in a particular area of
analysis and with progressive experience utilizing
strategic/critical thinking and creativity required;
--- Experience implementing financial systems required;
--- Proven experience taking business requirements from concept to
execution in a solution that is efficient and delivers expected
results, including defining roles, stakeholder involvement, scope,
risks, dependencies, deliverables, and review and approval
processes required;
--- Experience developing and maintaining project governance and
project management documentation, such as project plans, schedules,
budgets, communications plans, risk registers, status updates,
critical paths, etc. required;
--- PMP or CAPM certification in Project Management preferred;
--- Experience with vendor relations preferred;
--- Experience managing complex resource demands, including
priority decision making, preferred;
--- Solid understanding of the principles of financial management
systems and business process workflow;
--- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with high
degree of accuracy with large, diverse project teams;
--- Strong attention to detail and commitment to excellence,
demonstrated by the delivery of quality and timely outcomes;
--- Ability to plan, write, and oversee communications, including
providing timely and accurate status updates;
--- Ability to learn and experiment with new tools, processes,
formats, methods, and ideas;
--- Ability to take initiative, not afraid to fail, asks thoughtful
questions, and works to continuously improve processes;
--- Ability to work both independently and as an effective team
member;
--- Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with frequent
deadlines; high energy, self-motivated and proactive;
--- Ability to manage change to facilitate smooth transitions into
operations;
--- Organizational, project, and priority management skills for
planning, executing and following up on issues, projects and daily
responsibilities in order to meet established deadlines;
--- Strong interest in animal protection issues preferred.
