MANAGEMENT SPECIALISTSummaryThis position will support the
Foundation's conservation award-making activities by designing and
optimizing databases, handling complex data sets, building an
integrated data warehouse, and implementing effective data
management strategies.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Database Administration:Design, implement, and maintain SQL and
non-SQL databases to ensure optimal performance, security, and
scalability. Develop and optimize queries, stored procedures, and
functions for data retrieval and manipulation. Perform database
administration tasks such as backup and recovery, monitoring, and
troubleshooting. Extract data in various formats to migrate to
other enterprise systems.
- Reporting Services:Design and develop reports using SQL Server
Reporting Services (SSRS) to present data in a clear and actionable
format. Work closely with business users to understand their
reporting and analytical needs and deliver solutions that provide
actionable insights. Maintain and enhance existing SSRS and Tableau
reports, ensuring accuracy and reliability of data.
- Search and Analytics:Configure and manage data warehouse tools,
such as Elasticsearch, to support efficient search and analytics
capabilities. Develop custom queries and aggregations to extract
meaningful insights from large volumes of data. Monitor data
warehouse performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure reliability
and scalability. Leverage Python to work with data analytics,
including Jupyter Notebooks and standalone Python applications.
Help to build an integrated data warehouse that can index and
relate structured and unstructured data. Work with NFWF's
scientists to index data from the wide variety of data sources in
the Foundation. Support NFWF's Artificial Intelligence strategy
with various analytics and system integrations.MINIMUM
QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS)
- Three to five years relevant experience; Bachelor's degree in
Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- Proven experience in SQL Server database management, including
database design, optimization, and administration.
- Strong proficiency in SQL programming and experience with
complex query optimization.
- Hands-on experience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
for report development and deployment.
- Experience with programming in Python, Jupyter Notebooks, and
related data analytics tools.
- Familiarity with Elasticsearch setup, configuration, and query
optimization.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work
independently or as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability
to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.PREFERED
QUALIFICATIONS
- Certifications in SQL Server and Elasticsearch.
- Experience working with large-scale data warehousing and ETL
processes.
- Knowledge of data modeling techniques and best practices.
- Experience in software development or scripting languages such
as Python or R.COMPENSATIONCommensurate with
