Job Description:
The Beer Institute (BI) is a national trade association for the
American brewing industry, representing brewers, beer importers,
and industry suppliers-an industry that supports nearly 2.4 million
jobs and provides more than $409 billion to the American economy.
First founded in 1862 as the U.S. Brewers Association, the Beer
Institute is committed today to developing sound public policy and
to the values of civic duty and personal responsibility before
Congress, federal agencies, and other public forums across the
country.
Position: Director, Public Affairs
Reporting to the Vice President of Strategic Communications, the
Director of Public Affairs is responsible for building the
reputation of the Beer Institute by increasing awareness and
driving the association's messages to key stakeholders, including
the media, members of Congress, congressional staff, member
companies, and the general public through media relations, social
media, and member communications.
Qualifying candidates will have demonstrated project management and
public affairs campaign experience.

Qualifications:
This is a full-time position with total compensation between
$130,000 - $150,000 (DOE) plus merit-based incentive pay. There is
also a generous benefits package, including employer-sponsored
health, dental, and vision coverage, 401(k) retirement
contribution, paid life and disability insurance, and generous paid
time off. This position is based in Washington, DC, and has a
